Have you read the sworn declarations supporting Ford?
https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/26/politics/declarations-in-support-of-ford/index.htmlOne is her husband, so throw that out if you like, but the other three were all told this story by Ford years before Kavanaugh was nominated for the Supreme Court.
We now also have at least three women (perhaps 4) who have levied accusations against Kavanaugh including one who has now filed charges against him in Maryland.
Why can you not look at the information and determine that she is very likely telling the truth? I looked at the evidence against Al Franken and John Conyers and knew they were both guilty even though they are Democrats.
I realize you are just trolling, but trolling usually carries a kernel of truth in it. Ford is credible.
I'm still looking forward to hearing what Ford and Kavanaugh have to say when they raise their right hand and swear to tell the truth, but I agree that, from what is publicly known, she seems very credible.
1. She has nothing to gain from making these accusations publicly. She has been attacked as a liar and a fraud, and apparently has received death threats. I can't see that she, or anyone, would subject themselves to this unless she was telling the truth.
2. She told her therapist about the attack years ago.
3. She told several friends and her husband about the attack before Kavanaugh was nominated, and specifically identified him as the attacker.
4. She identified a witness (Mark Judge) who was a friend of Kavanaugh's. If she was making this up, there's no way she puts a witness there, particularly someone who is more likely to side with Kavanaugh.
There seems to be no doubt that she was the victim of a sexual assault. The Republicans' best line of attack is probably to concede that it happened, but to claim that she misidentified her attacker. These corroborating declarations that Ford has obtained, which establish that she positively identified Kavanaugh as her attacker before he was nominated for the SC, undermine that argument. It's hard to believe that this is a Democratic conspiracy when it now involves multiple people corroborating Ford, and doing so under the penalties of perjury.
The fact that Mark Judge, friend of Kavanaugh and a conservative writer of some sort, has gone into hiding in Delaware and seems to want nothing to do with speaking to the Senate, is very suspicious. He did sort of deny what Ford claims to have happened; if he, and Kavanaugh, are telling the truth, you would think he would want to tell his side of the story. I suspect that if he was placed under oath, his story might change a bit from what he (or his attorney) has said publicly.
The argument that Ford shouldn't be believed since she's making these allegations so long after the event happened is not compelling. In fact, the reaction to her that we're seeing now is perfect proof of why she didn't report this any earlier. She's not being believed by many people, and is suspected of having some political motivation. It's not hard to see why a 17 year old girl in 1982 wouldn't have gone to the police to report this incident. Chances are, the police wouldn't have done much of anything.
As I said earlier, I am looking forward to what happens when people start testifying under oath.
More practically speaking, however, I think that Kavanaugh will get confirmed. The fact of the matter is that a lot of people simply don't care if he tried to rape a girl 35 years ago. We all knew what Trump did to women and he still got elected.
