Is the narrative starting to change?
I’m starting to see terms like ‘dereliction of duty’ and even ‘treason’ surface more and more in the narrative with respect to the current occupant of the White House as well as the GOP.
But will this blow over with the next outrage or stick? My sense is that fatigue is setting in and people are both wary and weary of what’s happening and there is an ominous sense that something very wrong happened in the 2016 election cycle.
OK. So everyone thinks Trump is guilty of treason because he is letting Russia off the hook for "election meddling" ... and you guys on the Left want to know how Trump supporters can stick with him.
That's easy. We don't think the Russian meddling is a big deal. Russia does it all the time, no votes were changed, it had minimal effect. Also, we know that Russia organized an anti-Trump rally after Trump won which was promoted by CNN, so Russia's main goal was to create chaos. Also, we know that Hillary was involved in real scandals with Russia regarding the Uranium One deal, but no one seemed to think that was a problem. We also know as a matter of record that Hillary's team decided on using the Russian collusion angle the day after she lost. We know they used every tool of the Federal government to find Trump's wrongdoing, including planting spies in his campaign, and still they found nothing.
Then consider that we see Democrats who are risking a nuclear war with Russia to take down Trump, and well, it all seems a little petty.
Trump is trying to improve relations with our known enemies and if he has to push aside this phony Russian meddling scandal to do it, then I support him. If he wants to blame Dems for not securing their servers, then he's actually right, and I support him.
In the real world there is no Russian collusion, but there is an attempt by our own government to overturn an election. Now that's something to worry about.
