I don't view Trump as a "wasted opportunity". Trump's major victory, as I alluded to earlier, was that he took on the MSM and he won!
Since his election campaign, there has been an exponential growth in independent news reporting on sites like youtube. People are fed up with the MSM and are looking for alternatives. This will open the door for more open discussions about government policy, rather than having the parameters of debate set by whatever narrative the elite-controlled MSM is currently pushing. While, sure, some of the news out there might be sketchy, it can't be much worse than the crap spewed by many MSM outlets.
For example, take a look at the hack job that CBS did reporting on the Black Bloc communist who was punched in the face at the latest Berkeley riot: The MSM casts her as a poor victim who was abused by a violent white supremacist. The real story is that she posted on Twitter earlier in the day that she was going to take 100 Nazi scalps at the free speech rally and she was throwing and striking people with wine bottles that she was carrying in her backpack.
Here's the story you get from the MSM (note that the video, which was posted to youtube by CBS has 193 "likes" and 23,398 "dislikes.")
