using reason on a profoundly unreasonable man is a fool's errand
Also, the reason the crowd size discussion continues in the media was because Trump continues to talk about it. He raised it for no reason in his speech at Langley. He had Spicer hold THE strangest White House media conference I have ever seen in order to talk about it more. Then a second conference the next day.
This is because his ego won't let him drop it. He wants everyone to believe he had the most people there ever and it upsets him that the media are reporting otherwise.
Just like when Forbes estimated his value at $4B way before the election and he sent financial staff of his to Forbes' office to convince them he was worth $10B. Forbes said they gave Trump's case more time than anyone else on the list and they still could not see where he was getting $10B from.
All President's have a big ego otherwise they wouldn't get there in the first place. But you can't let it get in the way of the job or cloud your judgement.
You really think that when this politician was giving a speech to the CIA and started talking about the crowds being over a million more than there actually were, he was in fact not personally invested in the discussion and was correctly using the time to make policies or convince the CIA they were on the same side or any number of usefull ways for a new President to spend his time?
Gary that is really very wrong.
Trump at 57% approval rate. Up 9% just four days after inauguration.
Feeeeeeel that, leftist losers!

Well done, Gary.

The Trumpsters who are OK with all his lies don't realize he is LYING about his tax cut for the middle class. Come on Trumpsters can you really be surprised when Trump is much different than the way he campaigned.
Every thread that includes fair discussion about Trump, asking his supporters actual difficult questions outside the realm of 'us vs them liberals' gets deleted.
What a farce.
I love this thread.
Trump ought to say that the Earth is flat. The leftists will ramble for years about his stupidity. Meanwhile the swamp will be drained, the wall will be built, Islamism will be crushed, and America will be great again.

Try to keep up. Stop reading leftist fake news. Obama has turned that downward trend. 800 killings just in his hometown last year.
That "leftist fake news" came from the FBI:
http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htmJust as single very hot day does not imply global warming, one deadly city (where BHO has not lived for the last, oh, eight years or more) does not imply that the whole country has experienced an increase in murders. In fact, as the linked table makes clear, the opposite has occurred in the U.S. as a whole--the polity of which Obama was the leader for the last eight years.
[Obama *did* try to do something to reduce murder in Chicago, and the rest of the country--but of course the NRA would have none of it. Instead, their solution: "Hey, I know--let's arm *everybody* in Chicago! That should make it a safe place!"]
FYI I never cast a ballot for Barack Obama, for what I consider very good reasons. But the reflexive, knee-jerk response of "everything he did was bad! and everything bad, he did!" is just childish.

Thanks for the stat and the link. For those interested in historical comparison, here are the stats for the last several Presidents--after their first 100 days, and initially:
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/data/100days_approval.phpI would be amazed if DJT's 100-day rating *wasn't* higher than his initial rating--given that his initial rating was historically low. But IF, somehow, it is even lower after 100 days...that would say something pretty significant: that he had done something to alienate his hard-core supporters. TBH I can't imagine (and I have tried) what that could possibly be*--and in any case I think his staff would protect/prevent him from doing anything that could have that effect.
*Not criticizing here, just observing that his statement last year about being able to shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters seems, to me, to be completely accurate.

Agree here. Politifact.com kept an Obameter going for BHO's entire term:
http://www.tampabay.com/projects/2017/politifact/obameter/home/Just as you'd expect, he didn't follow through on all his campaign promises: he kept about half, compromised on another quarter, and didn't follow through on the last quarter or so.
Politifact has started a Trump-O-Meter. But it's early days so, again as you'd expect, most of his promises can't yet be rated one way or the other.
Anyway, it's a useful resource. Good site for sifting truth from falsehood (from *all* parts of the political spectrum).
