You should probably take high school civics again. States aren't national politics.

States are national politics. Senators and Representative represent state issues and interests at the national level.
You seem to have misunderstood the point someone made. It was about changing a system that no longer serves a useful purpose. If you were correct then the majority of other countries would have electoral colleges, but this is not the case.

In fact, virtually all signs point to Trump being re-elected at this point.
How did you conclude this?
His approval rating has started to rise. I suspect that the general public is tiring of the constant focus on the Mueller investigation and the Stormy Daniels investigation aside from the more left leaning chaps and chapettes. His base will vote for him and they will be motivated to do so. Long term Republican voters will not jump party lines to vote for a Democrat at this stage unless the Democrats put forth someone who's much more centrist than we've seen so far. The Mueller investigation could change some of this but, ultimately, I don't think it will come out with anything other than maybe a referral to Congress on some improprieties but the House and Senate won't do anything much more than they have already (nothing). Some peripheral victims could end up in hot water such as Cohen.
I can't stand the boob (Trump that is) and this goes back to the 1980's in NYC. He's a serial liar and much of what he has put forth about his life is a fabrication...particularly his wealth. I've really never understood why those who stand behind him do. What is a rich "billionaire" going to do for the common man except feed them falsehoods after falsehoods. Trump has stepped up to the plate and already proved he is going to be of no help to them but his people stand behind him. I also don't think the Democrats understand what is the major issue with his base which I believe to be much more of a disenfranchising of the white male than anything we regularly hear about on some of those fine news sites such as CNN, FoxNews and MSNBC.
However, he will in all likelihood be re-elected.

Too much can happen over the next few months
I agree with that, but it's only going to get worse for Republicans, not better. John McCain just said he wants GWB and Obama to attend his funeral and not Trump for goodness sake.

I fear everything we see as clear indicators of how awful Trump is only confirms the bias of his supporters. From the beginning the strategy should have been to just let Trump implode for enough voters to figure it out. But from the beginning there has been finger pointing from the left and the constant hammering in the media. That is of course warranted, but if you are a cynical Trump supporter any criticism is only going to fuel the fire.
There are two distinct personal experiences that make me a skeptic with regards to the chances we will see Trump go. One was my time in the Marines Corps and the other was biking across the country. I came across a lot of different people, many rural folks, nice folks but simple, naive and often uneducated. My impression was that these folks tend to be one or two-issue voters. They don’t trust the government and most think the media (even FOX) is purely agenda driven and so should also not be trusted. Many don’t even trust their local backwater hellhole newspapers. If I could imagine myself in the shoes of every Bob and Mary I met in those experiences I would likely be thinking witch hunt right now, no matter how horrendous Trump is. I have to place the chances of impeachment and even no re-election at the lower end. It could easily be the case that this nasty situation might turn away even more voters instead of firing people up. I simply hope we see justice and whatever evidence is found is as black and white as it could be.
Americans are starting to suffer from Trump’s health-care sabotage
AND
Three million more people are uninsured. Thanks, President Trump.

I know, but the question is who will they blame?

Faux News and Trump Tweets will tell them who to blame. You already know the answer to this one.
The constant gasping at every misstatement/lie/fabrication by the White House from the Democrats is wearing itself out. It has zero effect on anyone who supports him.
You're going down the correct road.
You are definitely describing many of the Trump voters, but they are not ALL like that. Some are educated and connected to the news and how things are turning out, and those people will turn. Trump didn't win by much, and he will need all of the voters he got and then some to win again. Hillary was a flawed candidate and will not be running in 2020 (at least I hope so).
I maintain that Trump will not be able to be elected on election day. He will resign or be impeached and removed before then, because the evidence and the heat will be too much.
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.

Just because I'm not one of the gaspers doesn't make me a supporter of the POTUS at all. I gave up the gasping about Trump decades ago.

You have gasped over and over again in your comments about democrats. You have that going for you.

Huh? Does Kansas have it's own military? Issue national IDs? Trade agreements with other Nations that were previously States in the United States?
Ummm, no. wrote:

Reagan did something quite similar. That's politics.

So, a new week is about to start.
You Trumpers still feeling froggy?
Giuliani and Trump continue to show that they are bumbling fools who can't get their story straight.
Kellyanne Conway went on Face The Nation this weekend and said, "We were promised by many people on TV, collusion that interfered and affected the election result. We haven't seen any of that."
Ha! So, initially it was "no collusion", now she qualifies it and says "collusion that interfered and affected the election result. We haven't seen any of that."
Ha Ha Ha!!!
Crazy!
So, basically she is trying to change the narrative from no collusion to no collusion that affected the election result. Whether any collusion affected the election result is NOT the test. The test is if there was collusion at all. She is showing that she KNOWS there was collusion.
This whole administration is corrupt...bunch of effing liars. You Trumpers who continue to look the other way and support this corrupt President are fools. Smell the coffee...the end is near.
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.

Yup. Expect that the cover story (new and improved lie) will that: there was collusion but it didn't change anything, and that is which is why Trump stiffed the fat dude in New Jersey who hacked the emails from the DNC and sent them to the Trump Campaign, which then passed them on to Putin's People, who then sent them on to Wikileaks for distribution. No money from Trump was paid for any of that because he decided that it didn't help him win the election. Believe me.
