Mr. Trump Goes to Washington
Just as I predicted, Trump is having trouble getting lawyers to defend him because of the violation of attorney privilege during the Cohen raid. It makes sense. Cohen's career as a lawyer is over now because anyone who might hire him has to assume that the FBI is likely to confiscate all private material and use it against them.
So any lawyer would be crazy to work for Trump right now knowing some rogue government agency might destroy their career by revealing all their private client conversations to leaky government employees, all in an effort to get Trump.
The message is clear, if you are not an establishment player in DC, then you are not protected by the law, and the government can break any law in its effort to isolate and destroy you using the full surveillance and national security apparatus to do it. You will be assumed guilty until proven innocent, and good luck doing that without legal representation.
Most of you liberal Democrats reading this will think this is good, but this is one of the worst things to happen to our democracy in our history. Who will dare to challenge the establishment after this? Even if you don't like Trump, there may come a day where you want some outsider to go to DC to shake things up. Who could survive this kind of abuse? No politician I have ever seen would have even lasted as long as Trump, and he might not make it. This will keep a huge number of decent people from ever trying to help govern the country.
This is bad, and it can't be undone or fixed. The Rubicon has been crossed, all because the big government establishment thought their own moral outrage gave them the right to deprive other's of their rights.
Trump has shown us how corrupt our government is. Trump's legacy will not be anything he does. It will be the lawless depths our own government went to to take him out.
