My point was that political parties rarely win the presidential election more than twice in a row, but the specific criteria I was using had so many caveats (because of so many presidential deaths) that my point is practically useless.
I commend you on abandoning an obscure position! Trump would double down, and Disco Gary would quadruple down! We'll Make Logic Great Again. Furthermore, an interesting point could be made in the shifts that take place during midterm elections and I believe the point you're ultimately trying to make is not terribly far from accurate : Americans quickly get bored of the party holding power.
