I've had heel pain ever since wearing my new 33's last week, so I'm sure the two are related. Should I throw them out and go back to the 32, or just wear them and hope to have my feet adapt, or other options?

Why not rotate them in? I have 4 pairs of running shoes that I rotate through
Think about the possibility that the collar is rubbing your achilles. I don't remember the shoe, but a few years I ago I had to return a pair because the collar was hitting there. I didn't even notice it at until my achilles started to hurt , but man, it was just like my achilles was going out.
The shoes are fine, best ones yet. You should throw your legs out, they are the problem.
The beveled heel promotes a lateral lean, especially for those that underpronate.
May want to try a lighter insole or a different lacing technique.
I have seen at least 2 pegs with heel counter cut off, never seen it on another shoe, so you might try that.
Nike doesn't make bad shoes. Pegs are the best.
