My training consisted of a 10 to 12 mile run every Saturday with Sunday being a rest day. On Monday I would run 4 mile Tempo runs, mile repeats three times, or 6 hills, usually followed by strength training (basic core workouts, or sometimes yoga). Tuesdays were either four miles or six miles, it usually depended on how I felt after Monday's run. Tuesdays usually had a pace of 7:30 down to 6:50 (usually 6:50 as I got faster in the season).Wednesdays were usually short runs of about 2 miles max and they were slower. Wednesdays were cut short in order to rest a little before the 5k races on Thursdays. Thursdays I always ran 5ks at the start of the season I ran a 21:55 toward the middle I ran 20:25ish and near the end was my PR of 20:00. Fridays were usually short 4 mile recovery runs that had paces of 8mins.
All this ended around November 1st and since then I have been doing minimal winter running three times a week. All of the runs were random and reflect how out of shape I am. There have been some repeats thrown in there, as well as non tempo runs of 4 miles max. Needless to say, this winter is killing me and has convinced me to buy a treadmill as a lame substitute to running outside.
***Note*** My fastest mile achieved halfway through the season was a 5:15, I think near the end I could run faster because I was in shape more. The 5:15 was ran on a sidewalk that wasn't straight and had little hills in it. I'm not too sure if this information is relevant though.
