On Monday, I was in the stands at the Southern Maryland Track Classic watching my daughter run. I was watching the fast section of the boy's 1000, and I saw what looked like a clear DQ to me. The runner from WT Woodson tried to cut of the runner from Yorktown, but he had almost no lead. He initiated a lot of contact, almost forcing the other runner off the track. The other runner had to fall back a few meters to recover, and it cost him the race. Again, to me, it looked like a clear DQ. Here is the video (starts around 2:20):

As I was going back and looking at pictures of the incident, I recognized the runner from a "kick of the week" video from a year or two ago. I went back and looked it up, and it was the same runner. He seems to have a knack of getting physical while running. Here is the second video (starts around 2:24):

I am not an expert or a race official, so could someone please explain why this runner was not DQ'd in both instances? I've stated my opinion, and I'd like to hear others.
