I missed out on my senior year of track season due to a knee injury. I wasn't able to start really training until July, and then started college D1 cross country season in August. I ended up getting a stress reaction in my shin (2nd time) after my mileage and intensity was increased too quickly. I missed the whole season, and didn't start really training again until December. It is now January and I am racing indoor track. I feel really behind because I have missed all this training and racing. Do you thinking jumping right into track racing is the best approach? or should I red-shirt and focus more on quality training to get me back up to par?
