Yeah, these guys above. DeCastella was once asked about racing Herb Lindsay and he said that he had raced against him and talked to him some and that one of them had joked that they wouldn't get injured, but that they might get Dutch Elm Disease. Deek said, "Both our legs, tree trunks you know."

Also, Todd Williams has called his legs "short and stumpy" I beleive. The pictures of him mae his legs look quite short compared to his rivals, but I saw him run one of his last high-level races (28:35 at Hillsdale) and he was so lean and boney that he looked like an alien. (this is a compliment).
Anyway, these guys all did great things. Realize that you cannot change your body that much. I always wanted to be 6 feet tall until I started bike racing and one of the greats was 5'10" and i got old enough that I was secure about what genetics gave me. You can't look like Bernard Lagat, unless you have his parents
