I got two postcards in the mail today, informing me that I'm a "Class Member" of the NCAA Concussion Injury Litigation lawsuit.
According to the postcards, "The lawsuit seeks medical monitoring relief to diagnose possible long-term effects of concussions or the accumulation of sub-concussive hits for all current and former student-athletes. The lawsuit also seeks changes to the NCAA's concussion management and return-to-play guidelines".
I did not play in a concussive sport - I did T&F for all of my NCAA eligibility - but I'm considered a "Class Member" because " played an NCAA-sanctioned sport at an NCAA school at any time up to July 15, 2016".
Essentially, I would need to take a questionnaire to determine if I'm eligible for medical monitoring evaluations that would be paid for by the NCAA.
Has anyone else on this board who participated in XC/TF in the NCAA system gotten one (or more) of these postcards? (I think I got multiple cards because I competed for two schools during my NCAA eligibility). I think it's odd that as a runner I got them.
