Hello everyone! Stumbled across this site recently and was curious if anyone had a similar experience to the one I'm currently having. Anyway, here's my situation:
Back in June last year, noticed I had started to develop some pain on my in ear shin of my left leg, thought it was shin splints and kept running to a minimum while icing, stretching, and exercising the lower leg. Pain never really subsided and I stopped running altogether for July and most of August, gave it another whirl at the end of Aug and had the pain come back, so I went and saw a podiatrist/had an MRI and it came back with a stress reaction, not a fracture fortunately. He put me in a walking air cast and I wore it for seven weeks, only taking it off to stretch and do light rows at the gym (more so towards the last couple of weeks). After seven weeks it felt good, little sore but I figured that was residual pin and would clear up. Well that was in November and here it is January and I still have some soreness in the spot, though the one itself doesn't hurt like it used to, so I know it has healed. My fear is that it's still not healed, I know these things take time, but I really haven't done any running since August and have really reduced my activity level to let it rest.. Is it just phantom pain or would I be better served to go back to the doc? Thanks!!
