Namaste.
I am looking to get into yoga, but have no clue where to start. I am not very pliable and don't want to go to a class without being able to do any of the basics. How does one like me begin their journey into the yoga world?

Lingam worship.
Yoga is stupid.
I am a Yog. I didn't earn my ie yet
Yoga saved my running. Huge fan. Same with Pilates. When I first started, I hated, abhorred it really. I took a basic yoga class for beginners that was free (or virtually free) and it changed my world. I do hot yoga now religiously and got into that because it was cold where I lived and I like heat, and it was cheaper than my gas/electric bill.
I would suggest taking a beginner level class (either offered through a gym or small studio - yoga can get kind of $$$). In the Vinyasa (power) or Hatha (one pose, rest, next pose, rest - so on and so forth) styles. The heated yoga (aka Bikram) series are beginner postures, but it is an acquired liking if you don't adapt well to heat. Not trying to be a creeper, but what vicinity are you in?
