Anything in the pharma business is a Grand Slam. Americans are so addicted to medical drugs it's unbelievable 😨. Talk to any middle-age person and they're on at least one Rx for something, and many are on several. Mental health drug usage is off the charts from school-aged children up through the Senior population. Big Pharma laughs all the way to the bank - one of the fastest growing sectors for high-paying jobs 😉
You're about 20 years too late for the "golden age" of Pharma growth. Pharma companies have been merging, closing sites and shedding jobs like crazy for the past 10 years. If you've got the right skillset, you can get into Pharma (Statistics, Toxicology, PK/PD, MD, Regulatory). If the work can be done overseas though (Chemistry), your job might disappear... Over the next 10 years I think Pharma will continue to downsize (and if Trump decides to enact drug price controls, the industry will take another big hit).
