With good ACT/SAT scores grades etc, you should research some DIII schools with large endowments (no jokes here) and good running programs. Look for some with a billion plus $. Pomona for example has about 2 billion dollars and a student body of 1600ish. That is a million and a quarter behind each student. Financial aid is based on need. They shoot for a no loan policy. It appears to be spendy, $60,000+ a year on paper, but 57% receive scholarship aid directly from the college. Many times these elite private schools end up being a similar cost or cheaper than a large public school. I think people would be surprised at how much aid a family with a couple of kids in college making 150-200k might get from some of these schools. The trouble is you'll never know unless you apply and are accepted.
