Our local indoor track doesn't allow spikes, except for track meets. I normally run in my regular running shoes, but last night I tried running in my Asics Spivey LDs without spikes.
I could feel the plastic soles slipping on the track. On the positive side, the light weight, low to the ground feel, and stiffness was great. I ran faster in spite of the shoe slipping a bit on the turns.
Can anyone recommend a shoe that's light, stiff, and low to the ground like a track spike, but also has a sole that will grip on an indoor track? Maybe I should look at XC shoes?
