2 or 3 hat changes,
Origami shirt
Special lotion/rub
1:03 looking relaxed, HR never over 160
1:01
Let's let up on the antinope for a minute and just admit that this odd creation of Salazar does have the talent to at least scare Hall's AR and possibly best it.
That being said, who knows what kind of fitness he is in, and if he is event going after it this time? It could be he is going after the experience of a race and isn't near a peak at this time. In fact, it would be kind of strange if he was peaking for this race.
So maybe a 1:03 prediction isn't ridiculous: it would show a good result from base work only.
Warmer temps, no hills.

Salazar has many times stated that he is in favor of two peaks per year, one at the end of indoor, and one at the end of the summer. Galen may have moved up in distance, but I would bet on them continuing to follow the same basic schedule/format for training.
59:30 for Rupp.
With good pacing and weather, Rupp is indeed capable of breaking the record despite the hate towards him in this forum.
why the hell does everyone keep using peaking as an excuse for running poorly? I have no doubts about the effects of peaking, but top runners frequently win many races throughout a year, even off peak. Stop making it an excuse.
no way galen enters a half to only run a 63
he'll go after 59min, or a 60 if it's totally solo.

Exactly.
I don't understand some of the bummer vibe about Galen (and Alberto, Phil Knight, and Sir SlowMo).
Galen can break the record.

I don't think anybody would have issues with Rupp or Mo without the connection to Salazar. Anyway, what's the latest on the WADA investigation?

Huh? No issues except for his association with Aden...or a miraculous transformation...or a grumpy and entitled wife...or training with convicted dopers...or lying about his whereabouts...or not hearing doorbells when testers are there...
He ran a 1:00:30 in 2011, and he even suffered a fall in that race around the 4 mile mark. I agree that he will probably run a 59:30. I don't want to say it he will easily break the record, but I think a strong probability exists for that to happen. People saying 1:03? C'mon, that's an easy run for Rupp.

Rupp won't get the record. Humidity level won't be to his liking.

Cool, thanks for the notice. Once we get official confirmation he's in it, I predict between 60-61 with 20% confidence, between 59-63 with 50% confidence, outside of those ranges at 10%, and DNF/DNS 40%.
