Who's Lebron? I know who LeBron is, but not Lebron.

Bolt's unprecedented triple, triple. Unlikely to be done again, or at least anytime soon.
The End.
Is Formula 1 driving a sport? Don't try and tell me about the "endurance" of it, either. That doesn't wash with me. The five guys Rosberg beat in this vote would crush him at any athletic endeavor, aside from maybe weightlifting.
Who wrote this post? One of the brojos or somebody from Britain? I mean seriously, couldn't even change "football" to "soccer" for the majority forum audience (Americans)? Come on. :)
Also, the women's ranks:
1 - Simone Biles - gymnastics 524 (15.24%)
2 - Katinka Hosszú - swimming 472 (13.73%)
3 - Serena Williams - tennis 361 (10.5%)
4 - Katie Ledecky - swimming 319 (9.28%)
5 - Almaz Ayana - athletics 279 (8.12%)
6 - Angelique Kerber - tennis 250 (7.27%)
7 - Genzebe Dibaba - athletics 160 (4.65%)
8 - Allyson Felix - athletics 149 (4.33%)
9 - Laura Trott - cycling 125 (3.64%)
10 - Lara Gut - alpine skiing 112 (3.26%)
Simone has been unbeatable in almost every aspect of her sport for a full Olympic cycle (2013-2016), and won just about every gold medal possible. An excellent choice. She deserved it. Felix, Dibaba, and Ayana were slightly vulnerable.
As for the guys, HOW THE F!!! WAS ELIUD KIPCHOGE NOT IN THE TOP 10? H3ll, the only reason Phelps is there is because of his comeback. By that logic, Kenenisa should be in contention, too.
Sad that the AIPS doesn't follow American football, either. I mean, Kalil Mack? Vonn Miller? Solid.
"Awards" like these are stupid
Obviously has to be Bolt. And agreed these lists are dumb.
Mo Farah cracked the top 10.
1 - Bolt Usain - athletics 1149 (33.42%)
2 - Phelps Michael - swimming 490 (14.25%)
3 - Ronaldo Cristiano - football 387 (11.26%)
4 - Murray Andy - tennis 159 (4.62%)
5 - Rosberg Nico - Formula 1 146 (4.25%)
6 - Messi Lionel - football 124 (3.61%)
7 - Lebron James - basketball 119 (3.46%)
8 - Djokovic Novak - tennis 114 (3.32%)
9 - Mo Farah - athletics 91 (2.65%)
10 - Del Potro Juan MartÃn – tennis 90 (2.62%)

Why no football?
Interesting to see Hosszu ahead of Ledecky.
And that Felix made the list at all.

Agreed. American bias.
Elaine Thompson who did the double and the Polish lady who broke her own hammer WR should get the nod over Felix.
Am I sexist if I say that I'd prefer a list of this year's 10 hottest women in elite sports instead of the best?
bigger question; would you do her?

Faulty logic. His previous 2 olympics have no bearing on how good he was in 2016. That'll matter when ranking your career not a single season.
Michael Phelps won a lot more medals.

More like 6 or 7. Maybe even 12
Why would it be lebron??
He's a bully who drives the lane and gets every call. He had to rely Irving and espn to win a title last year.
He's overrated

Ronaldo 3rd, I'm howling. Portugal won Euros and he didn't even play the finals, they won the trophy without him. UCL final he touched the ball maybe 10 times with 0 goals. Most overrated footballer of all time, just lets the amazing talent surrounding him bring in the trophies while he styles his hair and does his signature pose. And that's a real slap in the face to Farah, I like Lebron but he didn't even win league MVP. Second best in one national league>the best in the world in 2 events? Quite honestly the only part that makes sense to me is Bolt and Phelps at top 2.
