When was the last time any American entered a major marathon as the favorite?
Tatyana McFadden
2016 Boston, London, New York, Rio. If you can consider them major marathons.

He is better than Farah over the marathon
We don't have to prove you wrong...Rupp will take care of that. I would love to see him do well, but he wouldn't crack the top 20 marathoners in Kenya. Boston anything can happen, but before this thread explodes with a shower of stars and stripes proper respect needs to be given to all those athletes out there with so much more experience and at least equal ability.

I would love it, but after the Rio marathon, when I really thought he had a chance when all 3 were together, I don't think he has it in him. 2nd or 3rd would be a good finish.
If he'd had 'it' in him, meaning if he were allowed to dope like the guys who beat him, he probably would have run faster in Rio, likely getting 2nd.
As for Boston, who the hell knows? The "conspiracy" stuff is funny. There are laws against conspiracies, if they didn't exist the laws wouldn't exist. The media makes fun of conspiracies because the people who traditionally own and run the media have been involved in lots of proven conspiracies (never mind a high number of them involved in espionage etc. against the US). Hence them wanting to ridicule conspiracies. But at Boston? No. Hell, the last thing the media wants is a guy like Rupp winning big. Now, say someone like another Meb, or Chelimo moving up eventually and winning, that's what the media wants. lol
Just a reminder - Galen Rupp will not run 2:07:04 at Boston and will prove the OP wrong.
Bad foot. No 2:07 FTW.

Rereading his thread, there are some pretty decent predictions from as far back as December. Ripped ran well, and surprisingly, a lot of you predicted it. Well done.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
