Ashcroft previously served on the staff at Oregon (2007-12), led by USTFCCCA Hall of Famer and future USATF president Vin Lananna. There she mentored Melissa Gergel to the NCAA Outdoor Championships pole vault title with a then-meet record-tying 4.45m (14-7.25) clearance to rank her No. 7 in collegiate history at the time. That same year, Ashcroft's distance-running charges also racked up three national titles.
...
Did she really have anything to do with the Oregon distance runners? That's an odd collection of stats.

Yea, the pollution has been cleaned up somewhat, swimming is permitted. The view from down here has improved, fish are thriving.

What's taking Dartmouth and W&M so long? Are they just not hiring until after XC is over?

Might want to check your charts again, Eddie. You're in Lake Superior.

That explains the clarity of the water.

Curious move for Yush. Maybe Alabama really opened the vault?

He has done a great job with limited scholarships at LSU and that scholarship number isn't going to change significantly, they have always been heavily sprints/jumps. If the salary is an improvement and he gets to build a larger throws crew it makes sense.

How limited was he? Seemed to always sign good talent.

There must be something we can't see. LSU has great history and can get in the door on nearly any kid.....money or not. Alabama is a "hopeful" program. Tremendous resources but I would say UA hasn't taken off like you would have thought. Coach Yush is a pretty bright guy, so I can only guess it is a money play.

In response to south Alabama, Nicole Van Der Merwe is way better than 18:30. They're lucky to have even gotten her. They need a coach. Thats under performing.
She probably is. Cross Country isn't run on a track unfortunately.

I don't know how accurate the rumors are and maybe it is totally false but I heard last summer he was growing frustrated with Shaver about the lack of funding/scholarships he received in comparison to other event groups. Hopefully he's making a good move but it's an interesting move regardless.
