Took an official visit at a college about 5 weeks ago and the coach has not contacted me since. Before I left he said that he will call me soon and let me know what the deal is. He has not called yet. Should I be worried?

the only way to know is to contact the coach.
if they wanted you, you probably wouldn't be left wondering
or they are poor communicators, disorganized, untruthful
nothing good i can think of
Pick up the telephone and call the coach.

Very bad communicators over email and phone.
People usually try their hardest to make the best impression early in a relationship.
He does not seem very interested in you.
I had the same deal when I was getting recruited. Went on an official visit, coach said he would contact me soon, and I thought everything was cool. Coach never contacted me so I ended up having to give him a call. He was just shitty at communicating. I would say give the coach a call and figure it out. A lot of college coaches have a ton going on and can forget about calling recruits back or stuff like that.
Are you being recruited by other schools? I hope so.
Other people are saying call him. But, he said he would call you. Do you really want to run 4 years for someone who is that bad at communicating and also irresponsible? These are red flags.
If you took an official, they are at least somewhat interested in you...or were.
They could be legendary in terms of crappy communicators or could be in wait-and-see mode since you missed the early signing period.
Or you could have done something off-putting. Did you keep bringing up money? Or do something else? Did you get along with the team or not?
I would say follow up to see where things are at.
Got along with the team very well and I had a really good cross-country season. There should be no factors causing him to become disinterested. Or are there?
Going back to my first responce, I ended up running for that team and the coach was a complete ass... So I would take it as a red flag. Ya never know though, he might just be caught up with other matters. It's hard to say
You don't know.
You want to know.
If you call him, then you'll know.
It ain't rocket surgery.
May he have a kid who is better than you and a better fit for the team. Either way the best way to find out is to call the coach. You sure as heck ain't gonna find out here cause no one on here knows.

Your calling him shows initiative. He may just not know how much of a deal he can offer you, or life may have intervened -- any number of things could have happened that have nothing to do with you. Take charge of your end of things & give him a call.
You blew it. Sleeping with his 17 year old daughter wasn't a good idea.
My college coach never called me back or returned my emails when I was in high school trying to get information on the program. It turns out he was a terrible coach.
If he's visibly uninterested in you already than there is little chance he's going to pay you any attention when you are a part of his program. He's probably just a shitty coach that was a decent college athlete and didn't know what else to do with his life.

You may wish to learn the difference between "disinterested" and "uninterested."
It sounds like you are doing well athletically. Good luck. ;)
Did you write a thank you note/email?
Have you heard the saying, "He's just not into you"?
Cuz you shit the bed

Never would happen in football, volleyball, etc.
I teach full time and coach 3 massive teams per year (60 in the fall and over 100 for the tracks). I respond to every email and text from parents or athletes, no matter how trivial. Either the coach is not interested or he is not a good communicator. In any case, it seems like you have a lot of options. I would try to run for a team in his conference and train extra hard to kick his athletes' asses.
