The interviewer was talking about it in the race and he said Hirsch can only do a 59. BS or not? I think Pre could only do a 54-55 in high school if I remember correctly.

No 59
Maier in 5th has a 2:07 PR over 800m
Hirsh sounds like a speed demon compared to Maier.

A fetus who could probably finish a minute faster than all of those guys at 10k
No way,2:07? There are 6th graders doing 800m at 2:00 flat. Surely he ran it but didn't race it.

LR us not the place to go for factual data.

His best is 2:07.90 to be exact. His second best is 2:07.93...
His best mile is 4:27...
It's consistent.
ok 2:06 is the 6th grade record
Kid should just go right to marathon...or ultras. That's Zach Miller territory.

If nobody else will say it, I will: this kid clearly got on the hot sauce this fall and has seen huge improvements. No other explanation.
Seth just ran a sub 10 3200m time trial on the track recently. His track PRs will come down this Spring.
his 2 mile record is 9:15
puberty dummy
Actually, no. Seth is an aerobic machine but just doesn't have the wheels. He's always been really good but was plaqued with stress fractures last year due to a 90 mileage regimen. He bumped it down this summer and supplemented the lower mileage with cross training.
He's always been good. Just not speed/track wise.

Btw: these are Maier's times. This may have been lost in the thread. Maier also has a 9:49 best at 3200. Yes, the flying start helps his second 1600m...
Harsh has plenty of speed when compared with Maier.

A good toothpaste and regular flossing would do wonders for this.
