Turn 13.
You kids get a letter for running a time now? Back in my day, we had to actually score points at meets and contribute to the team
Only way you ran 17:54 is if it was your 8th grade 1.75 mile cc. A 5:31 mile cannot run a 17:54 5k
You should be able to break 5 just because you're a year older.

your times don't add up.
Times don't add up too well but here's how I went from 5:40 to 4:45 from beginning of indoor season to end of outdoor. I went to practice every day and ran my hardest on the speed days hitting the times that I should as closely as I could. Lots and lots of 400's at around 72 seconds. I also ran 2 miles home almost every day up a pretty large hill. Run on your own and in practice, work your hardest. Talk to your coach too to see what he has to say.
Hi,
You should break 5 this year 17:54 the season after you ran 5:31 shows you're improving a lot! I'm assuming the 17:54 is a 5k. In 9th grade, I ran 18:50 and improved from 5:37 to 5:09 (and should have run closer to 5:00). Keep it up!
I ran
8:27 1.5 mile
11:20 3k
8th grade
5:31
8th grade spring
17:54 5k
11:03 2 mile
9th grade fall
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
