Will 9:04 in 3200 bring a full ride or close to it scholarship at a D1 school?

Well, this is letsrun, and as letsrun standards seem to go, NO YOU NEED TO BE AT 8:50 OR BETTER TO EVEN BE CONSIDERED YOU SLOW HOBBY JOGGER
You should at least be eligible for a partial scholarship somewhere. You've got some potential. Make sure you keep your grades up so that your GPA won't be a disqualifier.
Penn State just handed out a full-ride to a 4:23/9:23 3200m kid, but he is also the state XC champ with lots of potential.
You can get a full ride to perhaps all 300+ DI programs.
One of my teammates just signed with UT-Martin and he hasn't gone sub 16 in the 5k, and his 3200 is in the mid 9s.
I would give you one right now unless you had below a 3.0 and weren't dedicated to improving yourself and the team.
Don't ask LetsRun - ask your high school coach, parents, and resources you have at your school. 9:04 is a very competitive time that many D1 schools will be ecstatic about seeing. You have to be accountable and contact coaches yourself letting them know you are interested in their program, your PR's, and your potential at the college level. Don't ask LetsRun. They are jealous here of you.

That's not true at all.

+1. There are D1 teams that would give you zero scholarship with that time.
Although most teams would give you at least a partial assuming that's from Junior year track and that it's not an anomaly (meaning you've run several times consistent with the 9:04).
If you ran 9:30 as a Junior then popped off a 9:04 in June of your Senior year you'll be welcome as a walk on, but that's about it...

This^
I got a partial scholarship at a Top 60 D1 program with a 9:30 3200m. Even the greatest schools sometimes only give partial scholarships, and the worst schools might not be fully funded, so they only give partials as well to runners like you.
As you probably expected, can you get a full scholarship with a 9:04? I say yes. My guess would be well-funded programs that are on the cusp of being a NCAA-qualifying team. I'm NOT saying that you would be able to run for these schools, but I would guess a team like Butler or Ohio State for instance might give you close to a full.
Full scholarships are really hard to come by. Hopefully you're smart as well.
Here you go, just ran with some alumni... also, I ran 9:30 for 3200m and got a full-scholarship, NCAA DI 100% athletic. You guys need to get out more there are 300+ programs that are DI

I'm at a D1 that finished in the top 15 at xc nationals. You would get a full ride here
Where in the world does that article say he got a full ride. My guess is he probably got less than $3,000.00

I know a kid who ran 4:21/9:21 kid who took 3rd in a fairly weak conference running 16:29 on a course that is typically produces fast times and he is going on a partial scholarship to NAU.
^haha I was there. I remember it because it was a pretty hot and embarrassing for him. He lost to a sophomore and a kid with a man bun. It was about 20 seconds off his pr, and everybody was saying that he was having a great season. But he's only 5'2 senior, so I'll cut him some slack.
It's not from the article, it's from an alumni.
I ran 8:58 for 3200m and 8:23 for 3000m and pulled in a massive 23%!!! YES!!!
Listen there is no way that kid got a full ride from a program like Penn State. Last year they had a sub 4 prep runner join the team so they are not going to be too impressed with a 4:23, 9:32 kid. Do not believe everything you hear.
Yes, there are a lot of schools that will give you a full for that time.
You can't be too picky, as it will depend on money available and other athletes, but there are plenty of schools that are in play.
you guys all act like kids are nothing more than the times they run, but thats just not true. maybe that kid ran those times at altitude or on 30 miles a week of training, not running all summer and playing basketball? or maybe he is a 4.0 student? I, like the OP, ran 9:04 but had below average grades and didnt preform until the end of senior year so i lots a lot of scholarships for those reasons.
OP also be aware if you can work your way up to a full with time and preformances.
