LV was untouchable in CC - king Ches never beat him at any event. On top of that, LV only ran as fast as needed to. Left Futsum and rest of competition so far behind after 1.2 miles into race, you'd need binoculars to see them. Jogged last 200m for 14:58 at Balboa. Virgin would have competition for him. Would have been a race.
Lindgren ran faster on cinder tracks in HS than Ritz ran on modern surfaces. Too, Lindgren was world class as a HSer, Ritz was not world class until his twenties.

Umm XC doesn't have synthetic surfaces...
And Lindgren was world class when there were no true professionals. Apples to oranges.
