Training this winter I am training to run a 15:20 for 5k on the track this coming spring. I just wanted to know what Kind of mileage I should get up to for this? I know a lot of people will go up to 90 mpw and others only about 60 mpw for times around 15. This past XC season I averaged 26:25 for the 3 8k's I ran while Averaging about 63 miles throughout the season. Just looking for some advice on what I should do. I felt fine averaging in the 60's for a while, but not sure if moving up a whole lot is safe, or if I even need to. I am mostly an aerobic style runner (not a whole lot of leg speed). Currently training myself and hoping to get onto my colleges actual team. Any advice would be great, thanks!
