She is obviously talented as demonstrated by her success. How much does she train? Does she play other sports? How much of her success is her gift and how much training at an early age?

How much does she train? - Up to 45 miles a week running.
Does she play other sports? - She use to, looks like she does cross country skiing at 7000 feet.
How much of her success is her gift - Her gift is physical talent, mental will power and a family system that gives her the support to develop, ie they moved to 7000 feet, dad runs with her. Her dad sought out Tinman for coaching input, and the family drives or flies to races.
Thanks for the info. 45 mpw is a lot but I am sure it has been a process to get to that total. Moving to altitude is smart. Let's hope the mental aspect works out.

say what? not really.
A lot for a typical 13 y/o female. Please don't assume you can do that with an ordinary middle school kid.

A typical 13 yr old would take 9-10 hrs to complete those 45 miles. GP probably takes 7-7.5 hours.

Anything over zero is a lot for a typical 13-year-old. It's still not that much if you've built up to it.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?

How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
