Looking to buy a rechargeable headlamp and wanted to see if anyone has had experience with them.
Looking to hear about: Quality, Price, and Battery life (both how long the light lasts and if the ability to hold a charge decreases).

Just got the Nathan Nebula Fire a few weeks ago. It has been working really well. I run on the trails in the complete pitch black and I can see really well with it. Doesn't both me to have it on my head and it's rechargeable. I usually do about 3 runs with it 60 minutes each, and then recharge it. I'm sure it would last longer but I don't want to risk it and get stuck in the forest with no light.
Got it from

Thanks! I would assume for $75 you get what you paid for?
What is your price range? If you aren't afraid to spend a few dollars, the Lupine Piko is fantastic. I've had mine for a few years, have definitely put it through the ringer (rain, snow, sleet, sub-zero temps, etc), and it's still going strong. Hard to beat German engineering.
Black diamond sprinter. Some runner specific features. Rarely needs charged. http://m.outdoorgearlab.com/Headlamp-Reviews/Black-Diamond-Sprinter

That's an amazing product, but sadly out of my price range. I'd like to go below $100. Try to find the balance of getting a good product that's reasonably durable but not paying too much for something that's only going to be used twice a week during the winter.

Black Diamond Iota Headlamp
A tiny rechargeable light that punches a hole in the dark, the Black Diamond Iota Headlamp with dimming capabilities has a 150-lumen beam that's able to light up objects 40 meters away.
I use a Foxelli mx500 for nighttime trail running. No complaints.

It's removable, so I have no use experience with the overhead strap soooo...¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ditto. I've had a lot of headlamps over the years. The Sprinter is the best for running.
- It has a single LED with just the right dispersal for running. Multiple LEDs are not great for running because they soften shadows, which can actually make it harder to see your footing. It's better to have things outlined more sharply. And, of course, any headlamp that has both a spot and an area setting is going to be heavier.
- No brighter than necessary. It's plenty bright enough to see, but not so bright that it totally destroys your night vision and makes it impossible to see anything outside of the cone of illumination. You still have some peripheral vision, especially if there's a hint of ambient light.
- The top strap combined with a rear battery really reduces bouncing and makes it comfortable without having to tighten the strap to the point where you have marks on your forehead for hours afterwards.
- The angle of the headlamp in infinitely adjustable and doesn't require a ton of force to move. I find that I tweak it all the time based on conditions and terrain.
- The rear light is very nice to have if you're running in the vicinity of traffic. It's easy to turn off if you're in the woods.
- Great price.
- Very light.
- Battery lasts a long time, especially at less than max brightness.
Yeah, either the Black Diamond Iota or Sprinter. Both are light, rechargeable and do NOT bounce around on your forehead while running. One, I can't remember which, is not particularly expensive.
Thanks everyone! sounds like one of the Black Diamonds are the way to go. I appreciate the help
