Hey there,
During my HS carreer I've used two supplements off-and-on every other season including; Creatine and Beta-alanine. I'm currently in my senior year of high school and I'm gearing up to run my fastest times yet, specifically the mile and two mile. I run the 4x800 as well. I'm curious on what supplements work for endurance athletes and which don't. Ive done some research and looked into other threads. I discovered that I could rule out creatine. I've used it in the past however never really noticed any increase in times or fitness, neither have others. Given, I'm sure it never hurt me.
Currently I'm just supplementing with iron, D3, magnesium, zinc, BCAA's and a multivitamin.
My question is, does beta alanine help distance runners?
What are the pros taking?
If beta alanine works to buffer lactic acid, once you go off of it, won't you be running slower times than when you were on it because it will be harder for your body to "naturally" buffer that acid without it?
Thanks in advance
