I'm a high school senior in between cross country and track. I'm training to run a 430 mile and sub 10 two mile in the the spring. My winter training is just beginning.
Thursday- 4 miles at 723 pace (this was also hard my heart rate was around 175)
Friday- Cycled for 30 min at 150 bpm heart rate then I did lunges with fifty pounds 3sets of 10reps for each leg, 30 pull ups (3 sets) and I did planks.
Saturday and Sunday rested
Monday- 5.76 at 7:57 minutes per mile and my average heart rate was 192!!! I'm pretty sure my max is like 210. Today felt horrible, I felt like I was racing three miles in and I hit some pretty hard hills.
I'm wondering why these training runs are killing me, and curious if anyone has experienced something similar. Where your runs seem to be awful and you feel awful but it's nothing out of the ordinary as far as distance and pace?
