Nick Davies mentioned using Dr. Martial Saugy at the WADA Lausanne lab as a 'plan B' to bury Russian positives.
Then 67 Russian samples were destroyed at the lab, preventing any further analysis.
Dr. Saugy is no longer the director of the Lausanne lab. He has a new job.
It also says in the article that Nick was still working for the IAAF this year.
Nick Davies had a new job to help organize the IAAF gala dinner.
Lord Sebastian Coe and Ms. Paula Radcliffe love the end-of-year IAAF gala.

Hi Paula!
(It is held in Monte Carlo, Monaco…where Paula lives.)
What a night of fun and frolicking in Monte Carlo:

(Seb doesn't know anything about anything that happened with Lamine, Papa, Mr. Dolle, Dr. Saugy, and Seb's former right-hand-man Nick Davies.)
That makes sense.
Check out the photo of Diack, that man is the poster boy of African corruption.
Nick's story, for those who don't click through:
"(I) was told it was a bonus for hard work"
"I was conned and never for a second was I told, or thought, this money was to ensure cover-ups of doping in Russia"
Despite the claim appearing several times in the story, it's not explained how it was determined, or who determined, that this money was intended to be a bribe. But clearly Nick did not admit that it was intended to be a bribe.
rjm33 -- Why?
BTW, Saugy, Coe and Paula are not under investigation by any body.

The Mail On Sunday published an investigation which uncovered systematic Russian doping in July that year. Two weeks later Davies sent an email to Diack discussing a secret ‘five-point plan’ to delay the naming of Russian drugs cheats.
The hefty sum was paid in exchange for Davies to bury news of positive Russian doping tests
Davies admitted the money was transferred to him by Papa Massata Diack, the son of disgraced former IAAF president Lamine Diack
He also suggested the IAAF could use Coe’s political influence and his sports marketing firm, Chime Sports Media, to stop British journalists criticising Russia before the World Championships in Moscow.
So they paid him money to bury news of positive Russian doping tests.
He actually formulated a plan to busy positive Russian doping tests.
But there is no link and nothing improper here. Way to go rekrunner!
Thankfully I'm certain Lord Coe and his sports marketing firm had nothing at all to do with it.

Guy only shows up for the corruption or drug threads.
Hey, wrecked who do you work for?

Rekrunner is Paula's husband Gary Lough.
What about all the buried doping tests of non Russians?
Is there really any chance in Hell Bolt don't dope?
The headline is that Davies admits to taking a bribe. But what did Davies really admit? The story below the headline does not quite match in this respect. With all due respect for the quotes and conclusions that come from a Daily Mail reporter, and overlooking the history of excellent and accurate reporting from the Daily Mail, I will withhold judgement until I can consider the detailed findings of the detailed Ethics Commission report.

He admitted to taking money. That money was intended to help cover up Russian positive doping tests.
Davies helped concoct a scheme to cover up Russian positive doping tests.
I'm sure there is no connection and the WhiteWash commission report will make you proud.
Fortunately for Lord Coe, the ethics commission refused to open hearings about him discussing Quatari bribes, stating these were just rumors with no substance.
Whoops:
Waiting for the quote form Sgt Sebastien Schultz:

Hey, Gary, congratulations on your 2:41. Almost as fast as Mark Allen. What's your Maff Zone numbers?
What does it really matter anymore? Look, one of the top coaches in the world was caught red handed with drugs in a Spanish sting. He'll go away unscathed. Two track and field "heros"/gold medalists from London/Rio are blatantly doping. It's all a farce.
He doesn't admit taking a bribe at all.

He does. He just contends he didn't know it was a bribe.
If the question is what he admitted, this comes from the article:"(I) was told it was a bonus for hard work""I was conned and never for a second was I told, or thought, this money was to ensure cover-ups of doping in Russia"Let's see if the Daily Mail findings survive.

Right, then we both agree he took money intended to cover up doping. He admots that. he jus denies that he knew that at the time.
Such a denial is very compelling but Im sure the ethics commission will accept it without any reservation just as they did Lord Coes denial.
