Damn, it seems like this race just keeps getting better and better! 39 guys under 30 in the B heat! Come on! What a f'in race.
Anyone know what the D3 record is?? 29:21 by Yout 2nite.
so was gabe a dnf or a dns? if the former, did he hang tough for a while?
Division III Record
28:48.4, Dan Mayer, North Central 1994
way to be university of portland freshmen (or redshirt freshmen). john moore at 29:17, david kinsella (who is a true freshman but is redshirting this year) at 29:20, and michael kilburg at 29:36. not spectacular, but very solid for such young runners in their first ever track 10k (moore and kinsella... i think that kilburg might have run at U of O last year).
Unless Gabe's DNF was injury-related, consider him damaged goods as far as I'm concerned. I say he's done as a "player".
It wasn't. He stepped off of the track at about lap 18. He just sat in the infield and watched the rest of the race.

What--he didn't sit there and play the flute? Pound on imaginary bongos? Put more air in his bicylcle tires? Scour the infield for puffy splooges?
What is up with the guy?
rabbit?
Absolutly not. The rabbit was Ian Dobson who took the field through 5k at 14:30. I was standing next to his parents who were commenting "I hope he is ok". They were suprized at his DNF
rats.
did he look like he was hurting or what?
i didn't think he had the rabbit job, but you never know.
Not that it matters, but any impressions while he was in the race? Was he falling back, with the leaders?? Etc, etc... Did he appear to be in shape but not mentally into it? (if you can tell that, I guess).
Thanks for any input.
haha im a huge gabe fan and if what you tell is the truth thats pretty damned random and in turn very funny. any splits for him?
He looked good, cruisng behind Dobson through 5k.He was there the whole way then just stepped off the track.

Why would anyone react with glee because a runner DNF'd?
Are you that desperate for attention?
