ASU Men win the title. Done. Over.
RMAC grows quiet.....their darling Mines NOT for the win

Adams improves huge after conference and wins easily....business as usual!
Bye bye mines
Results show Grand Valley runner going from 6 to 67 over last 1.2k. Anybody know what happened? Grand Valley leading as a team at that point.
The heat got to Bryce. He was looking gassed coming through 8k and STRUGGLED home. Lots of athletes really hurting in the heat today, got a little scary as the day progressed.
Mines looked unstoppable at conference. Huge upset
Too bad. I bet all of the Mines kids are crying because after they graduate they're gonna get well paying jobs. You know, because they went to an actual school.
The Adams State kids, not so much.

Except that some of the Adams State kids have rich parents and won't have to work, whereas some of the Mines kids will be working 60 hours per week just to pay high rents (unless they move to a shit area of USA )
Great life, ain't it?
Did I just get counter trolled?
Who cares? It's baby nationals.

You must. You bothered to post on the thread.
Congrats to Adams! Those at the top of the thread, show some class towards Mines. Be gracious. Don't be a d*ck. I'm guessing you didn't actually run last Saturday.
Kudos to the Mines program. Great stuff happening in Golden.
Every time ASU tries to move on some Mimes goober outside the lines at D2 NATS yells obscenities at Sydney the entire race. Sydney did give this goober a shout out helping ASU get motivated for a 99 point thrashing....

Mines had the best mannequin challenge this weekend.
Forget Mines! Props to Grand Valley for being in probably the greatest team battle ever at the national championships! This was probably the best field of runners ever at D2 nats and they only scored 79 points. Impressive run by the Lakers!!
Would have liked to see them take it but Adams looked like they were out for blood and weren't losing to anyone.

At least the All-Americans are American. Zing!

Oh so mines lined up in Florida to feel proud of their academic prowess? Good strategy, they achieved what I would expect. When those Adams guys are living on the street they will always be jealous of the 4.0 chokers from 2016.
Did chris ever find his keys? What a jackass.
Glad mines took an ass kicking, they have shown plenty of times they are not classy.

Mines celebrated like national champs after conference.
Here's what I think we've seen in the last 2 years take place with regards to Mines.
November 2015: Adams State and Grand Valley State run the worst races they could at a national meet, Mines runs a solid race and wins with the highest point total since 1996. They were the best on that day because the better teams shat the bed. It was only the 4th time in the meet's history that the winning total was 100 points or more.
Colorado School of Mines thinks this signifies their arrival as a distance running power.
Track 2016: Mines is fairly irrelevant at national championships.
Fall 2016: Adams State doesn't put together a good performance at RMAC, likely due to not considering it an important meet. Mines wins. South Central Regional sees a slightly more rested Adams State team that ties Colorado School of Mines. National Championship: Grand Valley shows up with a very good, and very determined team. Adams shows up with a very good, very determined team. Mines shows up with a an over hyped team due simply to the fact they won last year in a freak race, and were able to beat a non rested Adams team at races Adams doesn't put much stock in.
Grand Valley and Adams slug it out over 10k, Mines doesn't appear to be in the race.
So we nothing has really changed, it's still Grand Valley and Adams at the top with Mines a perpetual 3-5 place team who won't be relevant on the track. If you think I'm wrong, scroll through some numbers.
-Highest point total since 96
-Qualify guys to nationals with altitude marks and never be a factor at the national meet compared to GV and Adams
-Finished 99 points out of winning after nearly perfect scoring RMAC, and tying Regionals
-Usually never run sea level times that compare to their altitude converted times (Marty Andrie is an exception)
+1
I once went to Colorado Springs. It was a disappointing redneck town.
I don't understand the argument that Mines qualify only with altitude marks when Adams does the same thing inside a dome at 7000 ft. It has already happened Sydney ran the 5k inside their dome getting almost a minute conversion. Adams consistently does this because they have the advantage of the dome brings.
Going back to XC you have to look at the courses to understand why Mines had a bad race in Florida. RMAC and regionals were both run at altitude on very strength based courses which will suit a team that runs only on hills for every run. Then heading to St. Leo where the course was more speed based than anything run that year. You can see this by comparing the times of athletes that run the 10k in track to those who run the 1500. With the latter having much more impressive races than the former. This showed in the team results with the bulk of Mines athletes being 10kers compared to the adams squad held up by their strong middle distance poweress.
And there has been only two teams in the last 8 years to every beat Adams State those being Mines and Western. GVSU has never won a championship and have never beaten Adams at any meet.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
