So the past few weeks have been going pretty well. We've had a few workouts, and the past 2 I've done very well on in my opinion. This past week has looked like this for me:
Last Friday: Normal run, 5 miles @7:13 pace
Last Saturday: 2x (500 @800 race pace, 500 meter jog, 300 @race pace.) with 5 minutes rest.
I went through the 500s at 87, which is around my race pace, and then my 300s were about 52, which is faster.
Sunday: Rest
Monday: 4 miles @7:03 pace
Tuesday: 5 miles @7:17 pace
Wednesday: 4x(400 at Goal mile pace, then one minute recovery, then 200 meter sprint). 5 minutes rest between sets
400s in order: 75,70,69,68
200s in order: 30,31,30,33
Obviously, I severely lack speed, and I need to get faster. I was pretty happy with this workout because my 400s were alot faster than what I was supposed to hit. Normally, low 70s feels pretty fast, but these 400s didn't feel that bad, it was the 200m sprints that really hurt.
Today (Thursday): Off
I would be running Saturday at Sectionals but I can't go. My next race will be on Wednesday, in which I'll be running a Varsity Mile (1st individual varsity race ever) . Will be attempting sub 5!
