Perfect stride?
Perfect stride?
Perfect stride? No
Estrada: awesome workout before any important race = disappointing race when it matters
that's a fast 5 mile though.
(a little slower than world record marathon pace!)

He's an elite runner, result speak for themselves, and stride is better than 99.99% of posters on here, before anything else is said.
That said I think the 2:05 guys look more relaxed at marathon pace, even at the end of a marathon. Actually, I think even the top 10,000m guys have less arm motion and shoulder movement at 10,000m pace than he does during this 5 mile workout. Could be terribly wrong.
Wilson Kipsang during a marathon doesn't really look like he's doing a workout or putting in any effort until the very end. Bekele does, you can tell he's working, but he seems very relaxed about it and within himself. That's a quality maybe no more than 20 people in the world have at those speeds, so it's not reasonable to expect them for even top US athletes.
Perfect stride? Yes
And I wish he would've continued to represent Mexico.
How strong is Bekele's stride? He can invert his stride at 180-degrees, http://trackandfieldnews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3054
Overtrained. One delivery on his talent.

Not over-trained.
He is an Olympian.
Guys like Chris Solinsky and Ryan Hill are not.

You are biased and wear rose-tinted glasses. The fact that you wished for him to race for Mexico means you are emotionally invested in his career.
He is talented, but not producing. Step back and look at it.
Skeets, he produced in Chicago. I don't know what you're smoking. Did you forget Chicago? Watch it even? Of course I am emotionally invested in his career. I'm American and my wife is Mexican. I think he's a complete stud. He will run sub-2:10 before his career his over, but Chicago was pretty bad@ss considering what happened.
I'm sure you're in love with Luke Puskedra, who ran what? 2:20? Ouch.
OK, 2:13:56 on a sprained ankle.
That was 3 years ago, but in the video linked he was jittery, looking at his watch several times per minute, playing with his hair and overall hyperconscious of being recorded by his friend.
Too much hand movement, not enough shoulder movement. His chin is pointing up, which constricts the breathing apparatus of the organism.
He can run all he wants, but will not find what he's missing to be world class. He lacks stillness.

This is actually an incredible quote and article.
Do you want to repost this as a new thread?
The revelation here is that Bekele was actually trained to develop his notorious and unique back-kick. I would be very interested to here from others - ideally Renato - what they think or can say about this.

Yea. You are the expert to give Diego Estrada advice on his running form.
Sub 28 minute 10K runners in Flagstaff:
3) Futsum Zienasellassie (NAU, 27:52)
2) Aaron Braun (27:41)
1) Diego Estrada (former NAU runner, ran 27:30.53 and 1:00:51 half marathon in 2015, 2:13:56 marathon in 2016 with a badly sprained ankle. Diego also has fine running form and is a fantastic runner.)

Are you saying Diego Estrada has no room for improvement because he's #1 on your list of runners above?
A wonderful sequence you put together, "...badly sprained ankle. Diego also has fine running form..." Yeah, not fine enough to prevent that sprained ankle, though.
He stepped on a water bottle at the 10K mark in the Chicago marathon, and sprained his ankle. He kept going and was still the top American at Chicago.
It had nothing to do with his running form.
I expect great things...from Diego Estrada.

Good form is not a beauty contest. How do you know the breathing apparatus is constricted to an extent that would hurt running performance? Same thing with the hands and shoulders.
The best thing about Diego Estrada is that he is not Fernando Cabada.
I like Diego a lot and root for him... But I could not watch more than a minute of that video. Pro running has become a bunch of narcissistic God freaks competing for attention on social media. Estrada and that bro that posted the video, STFU and race! Stop posting dbag vids about yourselves. Estrada hasn't done sh** to warrant all the narcissistic training videos. Hall started this trend.
