Who wins in a battle, the social justice warriors and college activist's vs the Russian SPETSNAZ?
I would love to see that.
Very primitive attempt to mark clan territory. So much for inclusion. When will we ever learn?

It sounds like this makes you upset. Would you also be upset if there were never a bisexual woman of Asian descent as president?

How f*cking short are everyone's memories?
No shit, but people realize that it's wrong now and don't continue to do it, thankfully.
And yet, the reverse is happening and people are pretending it's cool. THEY are the ones with the short memories.
One was institutional, horrific and widespread, the other is a few dweebs causing a mild inconvenience...

I guess maybe my college wasn't as "Progressive" as Cal but I'm confused as to this safe space thing they're protesting. It sounds like from the article that the safe space is only for trans, gay, or minority students. What exactly is the deal with that. Is that just an area on campus that only students who meet that criteria can go to. If so that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.
If those groups want to be treated the same as everyone else why should they expect their own area certain students can't access. That seems like it actually hurts their objectives of inclusion.
How absurd is it that a group is given their own space on campus that other students aren't allowed to access and rather than be happy with what they're allotted, since I'm sure they aren't giving others a special safe place, they say the space isn't good enough or whatever and we're going to punish other for that.

Yes, I would be just as upset. Someone shouldn't be discriminated against for their sexual orientation or skin color. Is that really hard for you to understand?

I actually cannot. There would be car burning riots for days at the very least.

Who is pretending it is cool? Revenge is a dish best served cold my friend.
You do realize that it's not actually revenge just because a long time ago some people of a color did something and other, different people of that same color are being punished now? That is called racism.
Hey Juan Pancho... how about you Mexicans revolt against the Spanish???

These white students chose to go to Cal so they shouldn't complain when things like this happen. No one forced them to attend that university. They signed up for this.

I understand that. I'm just wondering where your outrage was when this kind of discrimination was going on against minority groups, which has always been the case (we have had one non-white president in history; we will have had one female president in history by next year). I don't know you; maybe you've been campaigning against discrimination for years. But from where I'm sitting, it looks like you are only against discrimination when you're the one being discriminated against. That's what I was trying to highlight.
As an aside, I'd be willing to bet against your initial statement. The Republican nominee for president is a straight white male this year, and the Democrats nearly nominated a straight white male this year (and it was the more-liberal Democrats who were trying to get him nominated).
Speaking as an older white heterosexual male who's got perhaps 15 years left on this planet, it wouldn't bother me one bit if there was no white heterosexual male president in my (remaining) lifetime. Sounds like a plan, actually.
I posted earlier on this thread. It was a link to a photo of Alabama Governor George Wallace blocking the door of the University of Alabama in 1963 in an effort to keep certain individuals from registering for school. While Wallace had state troopers backing him Attorney General Robert Kennedy had National Guard Army troops.
My post was to show that the situation questioned "Cram it" has already occurred in this country- not only with Wallace in Alabama but also in Mississippi where James Meredith lost his life for simply attempting to enroll at Ole Miss.
A post may be deleted but history can not. Nor do the masses learn from it.
I did not make an "initial statement". This is only my 2nd post in this thread. There is no "from where you're sitting". You just twist things to fit your narrative. People should be judged by their actions not their irrelevant physical or social categories.
The only people being discriminated and racist against these days (from what the media shows us) is straight white males. They are the minorities now.

That is not racism. People need to stop using that word as a catch-all for anything bad that happens because of race. What you are describing is stupidity or scapegoating not racism.
The white students should simply have organized and created a large circle around the protesters and not allow them to leave. All the while having pizza delivered. There is power in numbers. I hope it never happens, but white people are only going to take so much, then look out.

Time to put a stop to SJW insanity.

I was taught that the folks involved were wrong. Have I been mistaken?
Oops! Sorry, I thought you were the poster I was responding to the first time. That's whose initial statement I thought was a bad bet. My bad.
Anyway, I don't think I'm twisting things to fit a narrative, just as I'm sure you don't think you're twisting things to fit a narrative. We agree that people should be judged by their actions, I think we've just each seen/experienced discrimination against different groups. You haven't seen discrimination against anyone except straight white males; I've seen less against that group than against other groups. I disagree that straight white males are minorities now, because they still hold a lot of power left over from back when people were not standing up against them (and, mathematically, because there are more straights than gays, more white Americans than any other ethnic group, and as many men as women). Maybe we're seeing media reports on discrimination against straight white males because it's so out of the ordinary, whereas discrimination against the groups traditionally thought of as minorities is so normal that it's not newsworthy.
