4th at PAC 12 is not a good result. Need to bounce back in their next two races.

Yeah that's not good hopefully at NCAA's it's not that freaking hot I mean Oregon pooped the bed today minus King Ches on both the men's and Women's side. Oregon will bounce back when it matters at NCAA's GO DUCKS
They will underperform at nationals, again

So great. From the front page.

One of those streaks should end this weekend. If it doesn’t, Chris Miltenberg (Stanford’s coach) and Andy Powell (Oregon’s coach) should just forever raise the white flag when facing a Mark Wetmore coached team.

Breaking: It was also hot for every other team.

Every other team is not from Oregon.

No Stanford or Oregon wins! Crazy stat! Needs a write up. Colorado superior.
Both the Oregon men and women didn't stick around for the awards.
What's up with that?
The King wins his fourth title and not at the awards or for interview.
Did their private jet have to get back so soon?
Naw they were going to do a hard workout after the race

This is actually true. I thought it was poor form that Oregon were not at the awards, but when I left I saw Cheserek and a bunch of the Oregon guys running on the paved trail outside the golf course.

I hope the trail was nice shady and much cooler for them! I think some of their teammates skipped the awards too, and waited in an "air conditioned" bus.

I thought Andy Powell was supposed to be a great coach? I've seen no reason to believe that. I admit it's a hard thing to judge, but I've seen some underachieving by some of his teams/runners. I'm sure he's ok, Who knows, but let's be honest, some people are just in the right place at the right time. I think literally 100's of different people (okay, probably 1000's) could be successfully coaching the talent Oregon has and recruits each year. He ran on Stanford, got injured, and was smart to see a potential coaching future if he got close with Vin, and gave up on his own running and let Vin groom him as "future coach." Right place, right time, right connections, right early resume boosters. Good moves by him, but special guy/one of the best coaches around? I don't know, haven't seen it.
Pretty much similar thing happened with Steve Magness. He did a good job of self-promoting, got lucky getting the Salazar gig, and then.....suddenly he's a boy genius. BS.
Again Oregon shows no class
Andy is the type of coach that doesn't force things and let's athletes come into their own, that's why he's perceived as a great college coach, athletes grow into the program.
But that philosophy doesn't strongly cater to XC because guys that are on the bubble being great, aren't ready till outdoors.
But that's how you can have guys like Colby Alexander run 3:34 out of college but never heard of. They've been groomed to be great.
