It's probably not 100% accurate, but my foot pod consistently has my cadence at 95 steps and peaks of even 100. Counting them myself seems to corroborate this. Basically my question is whether or not my strides frequency is actually too high. Its well known that the vast majority of elites have a stride frequency around 180, but I've never read anything that says more frequent than this is better. In fact, I would think my stride frequency suggests I'm not as economical as I could be, and that my stride length might be a little too short. I was never an elite runner, but was probably considered 'above average,' and I know my coach used to use me as an example as someone who ran lightly, with relaxed, quick turn-over, but that was a long time ago and now that I'm older, I wonder if I should re-visit my stride.
