Walsh is an interesting pick. I still choose parkside over them. It'll be interesting how teams like ferris, michigan tech, and walsh compete with each other. Each of those teams seem to always have at least 1 key player never running at 100%.
I think Walsh is a very solid pick and, based on the season to this point, 4th is also where I would put them. They made it last year but have added Hadley as a #1 runner while still having there #1 from last year and several others in their top 7 from last year's squad. They have soundly finished ahead of teams like Ashland, Ferris, MTU, Lewis and Bellarmine during the course of the season. I think the move up to 10k may benefit them as well. Parkside has not looked like they have the previous few seasons.
Not that September results matter, but Walsh actually lost to Bellarmine in their only head to head this year.
That's right. But also true that September races don't mean much. Lewis was well behind Bellarmine and Walsh in that race but just finished ahead of Bellarmine in their conference meet. Walsh kind of surprised everyone at Regionals last year but I think it's because the move up to 10k benefits them.
Hadn't heard of Leet. I question whether or not Nick Hall might be able to snag that third spot. Definitely strong in years past but hasn't seemed to have done anything really note-able this year.
Leet is a 9:00 steeplechaser, 7th last spring. Using Striegel and Torres as reference points (31st in Joplin last year), I would say that the top 7 finishers @ GLVC are All Americans in 3 weeks...if all 7 make it. It will be tough for Torres and Leet to make it through.
men
1. GVSU
2. Saginaw
3. Parkside
4. Bellarmine
5. Southern/Hillsdale
Women
1. Southern
2. GVSU
3. NM
4. Cedarville
5. Hillsdale
Wow! Southern-Indy on the women's side? That would be something to see. GV has topped them a few times this season but I guess anything is possible. Too bad Duluth is in Central region. Duke out between those three like at Lewis this year would be cool to see again before nats.

No way USI women beat GVSU. They historically peak at conference and disappoint at Regionals and Nationals.
Actually, USI generally underachieves at regionals but run fine at nationals.
I think mens Bellarmine team gets in after missing it by a point last year
1) gvsu
2) usi
3) svalley
4) Bellarmine
5) Lewis
Hillsdale burnt out
men
GVSU
Park side
Saginaw
Bellarmine
Hillsdale
USI burnt out
Predict the team battle for me people, especially on the mens side. Super tight and should be interesting...
1. Grandvalley will Dominate and score under 50 points
2. Saginaw has the best chance of upsetting GVSU, but they won't
3. Wisconsin Parkside will impress over 10k.
4. Bellarmine will advance with a 1 stick up front.
5. Hillsdale vs USI for 5th. My guess is it will be between 10 points
25 points separate 3-6 teams. Parkside debut dubnika really late in the season and Torress is running lights out for them. Hillsdale and USI split victories over each other this year. Bellarmine has the obvious 1 man which could be the deciding factor for them. USI has potential to be anywhere from 2nd-6th, but they aren't a consistent team.
