Lots of people run marathons to raise money for some noble cause. I race because I love to run and I'm better than most at it. I feel like that's good enough reason to race. I also feel as if some people see this as somehow selfish. I don't care that much really. I'll not start racing to raise money because it's en vogue. I'm just curious what other people's experiences with this have been. BTW, I know that the two things are not mutually exclusive, but I don't plan to start running as a fundraiser at this stage in my running life. I 'give back' in other ways.
