Took time off during the summer because I thought I had developed a stress fracture. I had a negative x ray and over the last three weeks I have run a total of 64 miles usually going every other day. I have generalized aching shins that get better as I run. However after I am done i still have a tight pain in my right shin that is tender to the touch and very tight when I raise my foot up. Cannot for the life of me decide if this is just shin splints or a fracture? Is getting an mri worth it if I can still run? Very confused.
