Has anyone here logged 100mpw barefoot?
Has anyone here logged 100mpw barefoot?
I as just thinking about this the other day, would love to hear more about. Bump
Are you thinking of trying it? Im just asking cause I did it this week. I wanted to do my first ever 100mpw all barefoot to make it special. It was actually pretty easy, this was my 2nd attempt. If I keep this up I will save a fortune on shoes that can I can use for food.
Eventually, I have found that I am able to run injury free when doing it barefoot. Did you do it at a grass field? Football turf? I have access to both...what one did you find better?
Yeah I recover faster from workouts if I do em barefoot. I ran it all on a grass field 1KM loop 5 and 10 milers with a 17 long run and Sunday was 5-5 recovery day. Intervals I ran on an old abandoned track that got pulled up. It's now half very well cut grass and half trail. The track feels amazingly flat still. I only had 1 small cut on my pinky toe. Doing 1km loops is torture in shoes but a joy barefoot. I've actually made my own trail from all the running and now it's kinda hard pact and feels great. I'm gonna try and run half the mileage on asphalt, the most I've ran on asphalt is 45mpw and never further than 8 miles as I've heard soft surfaces are easier on the legs.
I'm just thinking someone is going to troll me and plant something in the ground to kill me. I do a first lap in sandals to make sure it's safe.
I've never ran on AstroTurf how us that?
That sounds like something I will for sure be trying, I have found astroturf to be much more responsive than grass, which I like for going for fast, but like you, I find running barefoot on grass to be really enjoyable.
Does it abrase your feet? The only problem with grass is when the evil law mower man comes and cuts it as the dryer blades can be sharp on your feet after a long run. In the summer the ground was very dry I got a couple of cuts from the grass under my toes but physiotape sorted that.
I guess AstroTurf is safer? How long would your loop be?
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
