I normally get out a lot in the summer to do a lot of hiking and backpacking, but I just didn't this year due to being especially busy with different things. However, I will have over a month off starting in early November and have been thinking of going on a road trip to somewhere I've not been to do some hiking and exploring. I live in Washington state, so I know I'm going to be driving quite a ways regardless, but I would prefer somewhere in the West just for the sake of driving distance. Right now I'm thinking possibly somewhere in California (too cold?), southern Utah, Arizona, or possibly Texas. Any recommendations? I'm not too concerned about weather other than I don't want to deal with a lot of snow. Where is someplace that is beautiful, worth the drive, and warm enough to enjoy in mid November?
