If you guessed lds mission by the title you were right. Right now the plan for me is to go on one starting june 2017. I am a college freshman, ran three years of track and cross in high school and I am now running a lot, at the moment 5k-10k training, but am looking to run a marathon before I leave. On the mission you don't get much of chance to train, 30 minutes are given in the morning but you have to stay with your companion and basically you might as well just go in with the expectation that you will not do any running.
From a training/scientific standpoint, I want to know how much fitness will be lost (probably all of it) and, if a person has trained to their full potential right up until they leave, how long will it take to gain that same fitness back. Another thin would be anyone who has served a mission maybe tell me your experience on that.
Skip any criticism that you might have, this is just a training/fitness discussion, I know anytime mormonism comes up on these threads someone has something nasty to say. Thanks in advance :)
