I am a senior in highschool, I ran about 80 miles/week last year and didn't back of after q piriformis pull which altered my stride. Anyway I had a stress fracture in my femur near my knee. Prior to this injury I had almost two years of running straight with no injuries. I just got doctors clearance to resume running after 13 weeks off.
What's the appropriate amount of mileage and how much should I increase mileage during my first few months back.
I was thinking running 5-6 days per week for my first month with a mileage progression of 10, 14, 18, 24 miles. Then reaching 50 miles per week over the next 4 weeks after that. Is this too much too quick. I am trying to return to race during February for indoor states, and Nationals, so I want to attempt to come back as soon as possible.
