Hunter's latest instagram post shows him driving the Lexus RC F, which is a $70,000 car. I think this sheds some light on how much his contract is worth. Discus.

Discus? Back to school for you buddy. I recommend English lessons.
Could just be stupid with his money like Alan Webb.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're new to LR.

The correct amount has been stated on here many times, but people keep refuting it because it seems too high. 5 years, no reductions, guaranteed, in the hundreds of thousands per year. After that, 5 more years with possible reductions.
It's a lease.
Stupid purchase. Still though, he's got guaranteed probably close to 1 million over the next 10 years. That's guaranteed, he will probably actually make 2-4 million over the next decade, and should still have years left in his career at that point. So yeah I'm sure he's easily got enough money to put a down payment on a nice car, it's not like he dropped 70k on it at once.

And if not it's a Lexus so resale value will be great
Immaturity showing. Ego says buy a fancy car, you deserve it. Bad investment. Be a safe driver, stay away from drinking. One Pre is one too many.
How do shoe companies make money off of their sponsored runners?
This is a legitimate question, not a poke at Hunter or anyone else.
Do people really buy specific shoes because Runner X wears them? How do they get a return on their investment? I am not even 100% as to which company Hunter signed with.
Or is it a charitable contribution to help the sport?
I understand the concept of sponsorship, just not the reality.
12 years so yeah pretty new.

And this is the first time you've seen "discuss" spelled wrong at the end of a post?
Now that he is out of HS he is just another good runner, not so special. Why would he get a big contract? He trained like a pro when he was in HS, not like he is gonna start getting serious now that he is being paid.
His guaranteed pay is probably like decent middle class pay. I don't know where people get the hundred of thousands of dollars idea from. I'm sure he has bonuses that allow him to get that high but no way they guaranteed that kind of money for someone who doesn't yet even have any national class times yet alone world class times, no matter how old.
Is he regarded to be better than Grant Fisher?
and
How is the life of a young pro runner? Does it allow him to take college courses or is it too time-regimented for that?

For a large majority of runners shoe companies sponsor the answer is, they don't. But if you don't put your brand on at least a few athletes in the race it sounds a poor signal to fans that you actually don't care about the sport.
Drew Hunter's sponsor did not sign him because they think he is a very marketable athlete. They signed him in hopes he will be competitive in national and international races, thus providing brand exposure at big events.
He makes his own money, so he can spend it how he likes. I bet he makes more than all these haters anyways. They have to talk condescendingly so they feel better about their lame lives.

My buddy had one of those in high school.
https://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads//2011/11/1969AMCJavelinSST_01_700.jpgYou're about dumb af my friend. Let me give you $500k a year when your 18 years old and tell me that you aren't going to treat yourself to a nice car? Hell you don't even have to be 18 and make that much money to want to spend your money like that. Also, no expenses as he is living at home and all of his traveling expenses are paid for by Adidas. So, no, there is not any immaturity showing, just your ignorance and pure jealousy.
