Who is running America's Friendliest Marathon this year?
I'm shooting for 2:55-3:00. Ran in that range last year and training going well with a few more miles per week and hitting better times in my workouts.
Anyone else making the trip to Richmond?

We probably ran some of the race together last year, I was on 2:55-2:56 pace through 20 miles, then blew up and finished in 3:12. I liked the course and fun sightseeing in Richmond afterwards. Unfortunately I'll be sitting out this year; I missed a lot of training this summer due to a stress fracture.
Best of luck to you.
Bummer on the injury. Agree it is a cool city. The course can be deceiving, especially from 16-20 where you can get yourself in trouble.
Myself and a couple of my teammates are coming down from the DC area. Looking to run 2:25-2:29 range. Hopefully right behind the three Kenyans that always show
I didn't do my homework and didnt realize the amount of incline after we turned off the bridge. It also didn't help we had a 10 mph wind in our face. I got to 18 at 7 minute pace but I reassessed and slowed so I didnt have a big blowup and ran 308. Passed quite a few walking the last couple miles.

I will be there, first time on the course. Where are the big inclines to watch out for? I feel like the elevation map is a little misleading.
Very few big inclines, one coming up from the flat stretch along the river (mile 12?) but from miles 16-18 you are going slightly uphill up Main and that will add some time to those miles.
The good news is that once you go up and over the overpass before the baseball diamond (mile 20), all the hills are essentially done sans the steep decline to the finish.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
