Am a bit burnt out on training for longer stuff, so I'm gonna switch gears and train for a mile. Natural goal seems like sub 5:00. Came to running after college only as a hobby. Probably have averaged 25 m.p.w. over the past few years. Male.
PBs from past year or two
5k 19:4x
10mile 67:xx
Haven't been running much this summer after developing some sort of hip flexor pain. Easing back into running along with some PT exercises. Also avoiding basketball and hills, which seem to exacerbate the thing.
I plan on maxing out around 40 mpw and getting into some races in January/February. In lieu of a Turket Trot, I'm gonna get out on the track and self-time a mile as a standard for comparison.
Posting this because I get some enjoyment reading similar threads and will use the thread to stay motivated etc. Starting from scratch* more or less, so right now will work on building up a base with a special focus on core/PT activities.
*Ran a xc 5k today in 22:30 (in trainers)
